LET US HEAR FROM YOU BEFORE MARCH 30, 2021

BLACK WOMEN

OF HOUSTON COUNTY

on the FRONT LINES

Untold Stories from the Civil Rights Movement

This project is spearheaded by Gail Alexander, interviewer with the assistance of Mrs. Fenika Thomas Miller, and Ida Gary, videographer.   The purpose is to record  and document the untold stories of the women who were on the frontlines  and/or participated in any form, in the Civil Rights Movement of Houston County, Georgia.   If you marched, prepared signs or banners, staged and/or participated in boycotts, sit-ins, prepared food,  assisted with the release of those who were jailed, assisted in registering people to vote, etc.  no matter your role, we want to hear about it.

There will be a series of dates for these interviews through MARCH  2021 Please contact Houston County Black Heritage if you are interested in telling your story and helping us record and document this history for our present and future generations.   It takes a village to tell our stories.
